Tuesday February 23, 2016
Good afternoon parents,
Another productive, fun and busy day!
This morning after assembly and calendar, was math.  The grade ones had a carpet lesson on beside, over, under, left and right in relation to other objects and then worked on corresponding activities.  The grade twos had their lesson on skeleton models of 3D shapes and then they built a 3D skeleton of clay and long/short straws.  They also worked on corresponding activities once their models were built.
After snack and recess, I read aloud another chapter of our class novel.  Then the students had a continuation lesson on rhyming.  We brainstormed words that rhyme with “dad” and then students then copied these into the journals they started yesterday.
Library book exchange was next, followed by lunch and recess.
Mr. Hunt came in to teach drama and gym and then it was time for last recess.
During our Unit of Inquiry, students worked on “flip flap” books as part of their summative activity.
Students then worked on their journals while I met with each reading group for various activities.
Homework: Kit Kats are to reread pages 22-25 in “Freckle Juice”
Jelly beans are to reread pages 33-35 in their orange readers
Gummy bears are to reread “Peaches the Pig”

Reminders: casual day tomorrow

Have a great night!
