Thursday October 8, 2015

We had a busy day!

After our morning assembly and calendar, we continued our math review in preparation for the test on Wednesday.  The students will have several ways to demonstrate knowledge and understanding including; using manipulatives to show answers, give answers aloud as well as completing tasks with pencil on paper.  Review sheets were sent home this afternoon.  A reminder that these sheets are for additional study only and are not set homework.  Please have your child return the review sheets on Tuesday even if incomplete.

After snack and recess, students finished up their journals on Thanksgiving and any outstanding phonics activities.

We then began our Thanksgiving craft (the turkey wreaths that came home this afternoon).

After lunch, students enjoyed Thanksgiving dessert and each class had a small presentation to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Following lunch recess, the students had drama and gym with Mr. Hunt.

After last recess, we completed our turkeys and I read aloud “Franklin at School”.

Students were excited to trade in their earned treasure coins.  Some friendly woodland creatures popped by as rewards for earning 10 coins!

I let the grades 1s and 2s know that I am very thankful I get to spend my weekdays with them and am looking forward to seeing them on Tuesday and hearing their wonderful stories!

I hope that you have a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend!
